Gambling Addiction Awareness Day
Nationwide day of action in Germany (last Wednesday in September). Sports betting and online casinos are available around the clock on a smartphone – money worries and debt then weigh on work, too.
Idea to get started
Raise the topic in apprentice and team meetings, especially sports betting. Post contacts for counselling services (e.g. check-dein-spiel.de by BIÖG, the German federal health education institute). Make managers aware of warning signs: requests for salary advances, restlessness, absences. Arrange help confidentially.
