International Noise Awareness Day

Awareness day against noise (last Wednesday in April). Noise is not only a problem in production: in open-plan offices, conversations and phone calls cost concentration and nerves.

Idea to get started

Collect noise sources with employees (short survey or notice board). Have noise levels spot-checked, for example by the occupational safety specialist. Set up quiet zones and rules for phone calls, check noise-cancelling headsets. Where it gets loud: offer a hearing test with the occupational physician.

Germany has marked Noise Awareness Day for almost 30 years – 2026 was its 29th edition. It is organized by the German Acoustical Society.
