World Poetry Day (March 21)
A UNESCO awareness day on March 21. Workplace application: a creative writing workshop (haiku, short poems, stories). Writing as stress processing (the Pennebaker method) + a creativity booster. No literary ambitions needed – 5-minute writing prompts are enough.
Idea to get started
Lunchtime writing prompt: 15 min, give a topic (e.g., "What brings me joy at work?"). Optional: share results anonymously on the intranet. No judgment. The manager joins in and shares their poem. Haiku challenge: 3 lines, 5-7-5 syllables.
Did you know?
UNESCO adopted World Poetry Day at its General Conference in Paris in 1999. The day supports linguistic diversity and gives endangered languages a chance to be heard.
