Eye check: offer health screening for display screen work
Health screening offered for work at display screen equipment (ArbMedVV, Annex Part 4 (2) No. 1, German law): the employer must offer it, employees may decline. It includes the offer of an appropriate examination of the eyes and eyesight. If special visual aids are necessary and normal ones are not suitable, the employer provides them (computer glasses).
Idea to get started
Commission the occupational physician for the display-screen health screening. Create a list of all employees doing screen work (nearly all office employees!). Invitation letter noting it is voluntary. Result "special visual aid necessary": the employer provides computer glasses to the extent required (ArbMedVV, Annex Part 4 (2) No. 1, German law).
