Fitness examination: driving, operating & monitoring duties
For driving, operating and monitoring duties (trucks, forklifts, cranes, machinery) there is no mandatory occupational health care under the ArbMedVV. A fitness examination (formerly "G 25") needs its own basis – a legal provision, the employment or collective agreement, or a works agreement (Section 2(1) No. 5 ArbMedVV, German law). Includes: vision, reaction time, orientation ability, ECG if applicable. If it turns out someone should not do the work, a solution is needed – plan early!
Idea to get started
Create a list of all employees with driving, operating or monitoring duties and clarify on what basis a fitness examination is required. Set up a follow-up reminder system in HR software. Plan occupational physician group appointments (more cost-effective than individual appointments). Treat results confidentially.
