Cancer Screening Day
Day of action by the German Cancer Society. Many types of cancer can be detected early, but only some of those entitled use the free screening examinations.
Idea to get started
Share an overview of the screening examinations that German statutory health insurance covers free of charge, by age and sex (skin, bowel, breast, cervix, prostate). Set clear rules for time off for check-ups. Send it as a year-end reminder: what is still open?
Did you know?
- Women 29–40 regularly screened
- > 80%
- Men 54–70 in prostate screening
- 28%
In Germany, over 80% of women aged 29 to 40 had a cervical cancer screening in at least three of ten years. For prostate cancer screening, only 28% of men aged 54 to 70 did so (AOK health fund members, 2012 to 2021).
