World Menopause Day
International awareness day on menopause. Hot flushes, poor sleep and trouble concentrating affect many women in the middle of their working lives, and often nobody at work talks about it.
Idea to get started
Offer a "Menopause at work" info session with the occupational physician or a gynaecologist, open to everyone. Give managers a short briefing: what helps day to day? Check practical points: adjustable room temperature, fans, breathable workwear, flexible hours after bad nights. Name a contact person.
Did you know?
In a Berlin School of Economics and Law survey of 2,119 working women in Germany, almost a quarter of those with menopausal symptoms had reduced their working hours. More than one in six had changed jobs.
